Leland Chang, Cambridge city councilor, endorses Newton resident Wenhua Zhang for running for Newton Charter Commission. He calls on all Asian Americans to be more politically invovled. He says Asian Americans should not only see themselves as model workers, they can also be excellent leaders. He encourages Newton Asain American voters to cast their votes for Zhang Wenhua.

NCLS's Former Principal Shen Anping also came to the October 25 Event organized by NCLS. Dr. Shen recollected how he reached out to the politicians to solve the issued encountered in the past for the growth of the school. He is glad to see a parent of the school running for office and hopes everyone can help out where he can. Dr. Shen held sign for Wenhua Zhang on October 29 in the morning rush hours, together with two more Newton residents.

After the debate, the community has seen an increase in community involvement. Volunteers signed up for holding signs or talking to voters at various locations of the city. A strong team has been formed to provide news material for major newspapers. Benny Ming and Sarah Liu worked on writing news stories while Guanghua Li and Liang Ding provided photographs to XingDao and China Press respectively. Sarah Liu provided video segments to NewTV. The videos on this page are prepared by Guanghua Li.



Special thanks should also be given to the team who have spent a lot of time and efforts on coordination with local politicians, various officies, volunteers from the local community to make this forum possible; school learders, parent council support and help from parent volunteers to make the debate and PSA ceremony successful! Kudos to all who have been involved to reflect the spirit of community involvement outlined in the NCLS school mission statement.

The candidates will answer questions from audiences presenting their knowledge and solution. You are encouraged to have face-to-face communication with the candidates on the scene. Send your questions to principals@newtonchineseschool.org by October 24 if you wish your questions to be asked by the moderator. Please specify which candidate(s) is wanted to answer your question(s).
